Must Know stuff about photography:
Shutter speed – the shutter speed of the camera is a measure of how long the shutter remains open when the picture is taken. The higher the shutter speed, the lesser the exposure time.
For eg. When the shutter speed is 1/80 or simply 80, it means that the shutter remains open for 1/80th of a second.
ISO or ISO speed : it is basically rating of a film to sensitivity to light. As you all must be aware of the fact that digital cameras do not have a film but the same rating system has been adopted for imaging sensor of a digital camera.
Adjusting the ISO upwards will be good for dim light but the image quality will drop.
RAW: This image format has the image without the in-camera processing. Generally snaps out of the digital cameras are cartoonish or seems artificial. This image format is the solution but it takes up a lot of space (~40MB)
White Balance: It is basically a feature of a camera to compensate for the different colours of light that are emitted by different sources in the environment.
Sharpness – The clarity of detail in a photo.
Timing is Critical
The best time for shooting is early morning(dawn) or late evening (dusk). If you want to shoot at midday, avoid direct glare of sun and take photographs in shade of trees and buildings.

Consider yourself lucky if you are shooting on a cloudy day.sunlight would be diffused and pictures would be soften. Even lighting will also be a plus point when shooting on a cloudy day.
So guys, Next time when you click a photograph don’t use the auto mode. Try adjusting the above things as per the requirement and not just put the AUTO mode. Have fun clicking..:DWeBlog-iFest2011
